Well, German elections are shaping up to be a total mess . . . and I couldn't be more excited about it! I love it when one side says "We won, and should therefore take power" and the other says "We didn't lose, and therefore should retain power." And the communists are just happy that they got 8.5%. Yes, Forum interviews are this afternoon . . . five hours of me, Karoline, Brit, Nikki, and various others interrogating small children (read: freshmen) about why they want to be on Forum (not like we know the answer to that question . . .)! This will be fun!

First test of the semester was today in German 201 . . . I'm in what feels like mid-semester full swing, and it's only week three, so as long as I don't hit semester-end burnout at around week eleven (as opposed to the more normal week sixteen), I'm good ( Read more... )

Tonight was the annual Blackburn Institute D. Ray Pate Dinner (held this year at the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham), at which all the new student fellows are formally inducted.
