Other Tobys I know of (fictional, but still):

The baby in Labyrinth, who is so annoying his sister wishes that the goblins come and take him away. He then gets tossed around by said goblins and David Bowie dressed in way too tight pants. She does of course rescue him but essentially he's the damsel in distress here while she's the hero.

The HR person on The Office who is essentially the sad sack character. He is divorced and rarely gets to see his daughter, all the employees ignore him when he tries to enforce the HR policies, and Steve Carell's character hates him and verbally abuses him constantly.

Those two are basically the first ones I think of when I hear the name so it kind of makes sense why I'm against it, I think. :)

I don't watch the Office, so I was unaware of that one. I forgot the baby in Labyrinth was Toby. I loved that movie. LOL

Would you hate us if your nephew was named Toby anyway?

I wouldn't hate you, but I may feel compelled to call him by his middle name or some little silly nickname instead. :)
