One of the reasons I don't vote beyond the local/state level is my distaste of both parties. And, let's face it, you really are voting for the party and not the man at the federal level. Look at how many votes split down almost perfectly neatly along party lines. Look at how much power the party leadership has over even the highest ranking members of the government. Frankly, my vote ends up not mattering because I'm screwed regardless of which party is in power.

And yes, though my philosophy runs most closely to theirs as stated, the Libertarians are by and large insane and inconsistent. Why else would they keep nominating Harry Browne?

I'm a registered Libertarian....

Huzzah for "Third Parties that are just like throwing your vote away but more psychologically fullfilling than not voting" options.

Really, the whole 2 Party system should change.... But unfortunately it probably never will.

Of course, then you trade the flaws of the two party system for the flaws of the parliamentary system.

While I'm not terribly fond of having to vote for 'the lesser of two evils' to have my vote count, I'm not sure that such a trade would change things for the better.

Libertarians actually win elections here in Texas, so I am not throwing my vote away at all.

Texas is it's own country, I tell you!

XD

Libertarians just need to figure out which issues and what solutions they are backing so I can finally determine if it's even feasible to throw my vote to them.

I'm not going to vote for the Libertarian candidates who think, for example, that abortion is okay, but assisted suicide is not. That gun control is okay, but the waiting period is a week.

Wow. Thank you.

This was actually pretty intelligent. Not that I'm surprised or anything, you're not exactly a dumbass.

And if I hear one more "this administration has prevented violence against Americans while in power" one more time, I'm going to inscribe the names of all the soldiers and contractors who died in Iraq from violence that could have been prevented (by giving them proper guns and armor and tools before deploying them, for example), and all the Americans in other countries who have died from bomb blasts (like in London, for example) on a baseball bat and start using it onthe heads of people who say that. There are Americans NOT IN THE UNITED STATES PROPER WHO SUFFER VIOLENCE FROM TERRORISTS ALL THE TIME

Thank you! Now if we could just get the word out to the other 298,232,272 US citizens out there.
