confusion chapter 3

Summary: The heart tells you what you want and what is right. But what if it's confused, will it still be the same?
It's a wonderful morning to start a day. But not for Chinen. The reminiscence of yesterday made Chinen's head ache in an utter beat and she can't help but feel the searing pain of her heart. Yesterday was the day she wouldn't expect would come. So her story with Daiki was just a sarcastic anecdote filled with the broken pieces of her heart and nothing else. She felt the world melt around her eyes and that is something she wouldn't forget in a day.
After all her thoughts about Daiki, her heart starts to stir up again in an uncomfortable mood. Suddenly, her phone vibrated then the phone rang. She looked who's calling and saw an unknown number. She remembered she phoned Takaki yesterday and she felt that it might be him. With trembling hands, she answered the phone call with a groggy voice.
"Hello? Ta- takaki?"
"Hey, babe. Good morning." Takaki heard Chinen sigh on the other end of the phone. Takaki coughed a little signaling Chinen to reply. Luckily, she has a little more power to be on her state of mind to reply normally to him. She deosn't want him to worry about her or vice-versa. Her problem on Daiki is too much for her to handle, she doesn't want Takaki to add to her problems.
"Uh, hey Takaki, can you call again because I'm still in bed and I would really appreciate if you could give me an hour or so to do my morning routine."
"But Chinen it's 8:00 and we'll be late in 15 minutes?? And besides I'm here in front of your house." Chinen, in her vague mind, cut-off the conversation and suddenly got out of her bed, quickly taking off her clothes all at once and took off to the shower as quickly as possible. She can't miss this, now that she's taking up her place in the honor role and to the fact that Horikoshi Gakuen is a school where absences are somewhat unforgivable.
Taking a quick shower, she got out of the bathroom and dressed herself up on a time that sums up to 10 seconds. While fixing her hair, she thought of Takaki and she took a small peek on her curtain just to see a guy with tousled bed hair and closed eyes facing the sky. Takaki looked like a lost kid in some way and she can't help but smile a bit. His expression is relaxing and by just looking at him, she felt peace but when he opened his eyes, she felt surprised because Takaki is looking striaght at her, right through the windows at that exact moment. Chinen became so starstrucked that she didn't realize that Takaki is mouthing something to her while tapping his watch. 10 more minutes.
She went down quickly and she didn't realize the amount of ecstasy she had gained this morning. Of course, she still can't get over on what happened yesterday but right now, she needs to focus. She saw Takaki greeting her with a sincere smile while his hands are inside his pocket. He is feeling insecure, Chinen thought.
"Hey."
"Hey."
And with a single hook of his arm around her shoulders they walked towards the school yet she felt the warmth of Takaki's body and the security he gives through that action of endearment is sensible enough for her; for the first time in Chinen's life, she has been touched by a man like this but somehow, it made her relax even through the awkward situation. Maybe, just a thought, that this boyfriend thing is not bad after all. But still, Daiki...
