Summary: The heart tells you what you want and what is right. But what if it's confused, will it still be the same?
The gates of Horikoshi seem inviting, even if that school is the last place Chinen wanted to be in right now. A few more steps and everyone will see that she and Takaki are now a thing.
Chinen is having second thoughts of the idea because classes are not gonna start in 5 minutes and everyone will see them. Their relationship will spread like wildfire in the whole student body in 3 minutes as she had calculated it, more or less. She's afraid that Daiki will know. But why is she afraid? Didn't she choose this? To get over him? Or is it because she's just using Takaki just to make Daiki jealous? The truth is, she doesn't know. Chinen heaved a deep breath and Takaki noticed the way Chinen suddenly walked slower as they near the gates. A sense of curiosity washed over Takaki's face.
"Hey, you okay babe?"
"Yeah, I'm fine..."
"Well, you don't seem to be.... is it because of me?" Chinen looked up just to see Takaki's face crunched up telling that he is somewhat hurt by the idea. Chinen widened her eyes and quickly told him that it's not him and tried to cover up the topic by something else.
"It's because I have ummm, my monthly girl's thing and uhhhh.."
"Ohhh.... ummm...okay." Chinen took that as answer that their conversation has ended because she saw Takaki blush at that moment. The perfect way to cover up a suspicion, Chinen noted. She felt relaxed of the thought that she somehow forgot that they are now walking inside Horikoshi.
The noise of the crowd seemed to deteriorate as they near the building. A lot of the higher batches on the upper floors passed on the corridors just to see what happened because it seems that everyone was silent for a minute. Their eyes are looking directly to Takaki and Chinen and they are processing what they are seeing. Girls are now whispering to each other, boys are looking at Takaki like a villain in an anime. Just a moment ago, everyone is playing along the corridors making noises and whatever but now, Chinen didn't think that this would cause a silent commotion. It's like everything is in slow motion, her skirt swinging to the left and right while Takaki, raising up his smirk and his proud ego as the couple walk the crowd passing through each of them in a straight line. Everyone is facing them and Chinen is becoming more uncomfortable as the second passes. She scans the crowd for signs of Daiki but she didn't find him.
"Yuya!" A loud high-pitched voice echoed through the corridor and everyone turned around to see a person, hands in his pockets. The guy has flawless skin and plump pink lips and he is smirking on the end of the corridor. Chinen didn't see that guy before but he surely is good-looking. Girls started to fangirl saying "waaa~ he's here!" "He's so hot!!" "Senpai!!"
"Matsujun! Hey, what's up bro?" Takaki lead Chinen through Matsujun and saw that Matsujun is staring right at her then smiled. Girls screamed happily as the two 'senpais' did a brotherly hug. Ah, yaoi fangirls, Chinen thought.
"What are you doing here huh? This is the first time I saw you step on this department." Oh... an upper batch then, Chinen suspected.
"Well it seems that you've caused a commotion in the whole school. Nino told me that you're carrying some hot girl with you when you entered school, so I went here to check out myself. And it seems that you caught a bait, didn't you Takaki?" Matsujun looked at Chinen and Chinen felt flattered and she couldn't help herself blush. All this attention is somewhat different than before and she feels awkward with the feeling.
"Aww I made her blush, hey do you mind if I take her out sometime Takaki?" Chinen widened her eyes out of surprise and Takaki just tried to pull off a I'm-gonna-kill-you face and laughed. Chinen seemed to enjoy seeing the both of them laughing, like brothers. After a few more laughs, they ended the joking conversation
"By the way, let me properly introduce myself for a beautiful girl like you. Matsumoto Jun, IV-A. You can call me Matsujun but I prefer if you call me senpai." Matsujun added his introduction with a wink on the end and Chinen can't help but blush.
"Hey,hey, don't flirt with her. She's mine."
"Aw, the gangster is going all soft now huh? Oh lover boy... tsk tsk tsk." Takaki playfully punched Matsujun. At that same time, the bell rang signaling for the start of classes. Matsujun bid good-bye and promised to visit Chinen some other time. Takaki led Chinen to her room but as they pass some of the other rooms in the corridor, a lot of students are still looking at them.
They reached Chinen's room and she saw Daiki writing something in his desk. She also saw Yuto and Yamada wide-eyed while looking at Takaki, then her back and forth. Chinen also saw that Daiki is now staring at her while his face is crunched up in curiosity. She took this opportunity now to give him what the deal is all about now. She grabbed Takaki's tie and whispered something to him.
"Hey, see you later." Then she kissed him right in the lips. Takaki was surprised by the sudden action of Chinen because he haven't encountered this face of Chinen before but he didn't pull back. Classmates of Chinen are watching the whole scene and they were baffled by the sudden occurence. Takaki and Chinen look like they're making out now but thankfully, the second bell rang signaling for the last warning of the start of classes. Chinen held back Takaki thinking that that was enough to make a show and besides, she doesn't want Takaki to be late. Takaki bid his goodbye and ran of to the stairs to catch up on class.
Chinen just silently walked inside the class to her seat while everyone is staring at her, wide-eyed. But what she's looking at is the expression of Daiki's face and it is unreadable that she can't explain it. She sat down and thought of things about how Daiki felt when she kissed Takaki. She couldn't hide the fact that she feels Daiki staring at her right now. And this, this is what she wants. For Daiki to notice her again.
