teen wolf 3x10, "the overlooked"

Brief notes on last night's ep:

- PETER. So awesome. Who even knows how much to trust him, but he definitely cares about his family. All protective over Cora! And oooh, first encounter with Melissa. That was nicely handled. And Peter looking in impressed shock at the epinephrin sticking out of his chest. LOLOL.

- I still don't really understand the mistletoe. Nice story and all, but mostly it just explained the sentimental significance, rather than what it really does or how it is used. It's a poison AND a cure? It reveals one's true face? WHAT DOES IT DO. Not to mention, how do people keep ingesting it without their knowledge?

- Jennifer is such a great villain. Stiles's suspicion that all was somehow still going according to her plan was spot on. She couldn't go straight to the hospital to get Melissa because she knew the alpha pack would be after her, so she went to Derek's first, knowing she would convince them to go with her, albeit under false pretenses. Nicely played, player. But, okay: how did she know about Derek killing Paige in the root cellar? (I suppose we're going to have to handwave the technicality that Paige's blood wasn't sacrificial in nature.) Also, if she's connected and grateful to Derek for giving her the power to survive, you'd think she'd be grateful to the sheriff for finding her and SAVING HER LIFE.

- The lunar eclipse was what I thought it would be, good.

- STILES FEELS FOR THE ENTIRE EPISODE. Also, the bat. Also lots of Sterek feels in this episode! You know, if that's your thing, which, let's be honest. :D

- Stiles's rescue breathing! So heroic and I love him. "The next time I put my lips to your mouth, you better be awake." I tell you what, Stiles, fandom will be awake. I promise.

- Cora, though. Since we still have no explanation for where she's been, and now we have no explanation for why she isn't getting better, I'm still operating under the assumption that she's somehow involved with either the alpha pack or the darach.

- I love the twins, y'all. Love them. This prolonged battle between them over priorities is fascinating, especially when you consider their Voltron Wolf -- which is a device we all hate, but it does bring up interesting questions about who makes the decisions when they are in wolf form. Ethan hesitated to hurt Scott, and it pissed Aiden off.

- Deucalion's "gesture of good will" in letting Melissa go was clearly a gesture toward Jennifer, not Scott. I think Scott may have known that when he decided to go with Deucalion at the end. STILES AND SCOTT AT THE END. :((((

- So Jen was Kali's emissary instead of the twins', which to me isn't all that interesting except that it gave us a little backstory on Kali. But we pretty much knew how she felt about Ennis, so all this did was confirm how much Deucalion will be fucked if she finds out he's the one who killed him.

- ISAAC. Man, I love the personality he's developed over the last year. He's so cool as a cucumber on the surface all the time -- much like Peter -- but fiercely devoted. LOL at his observation that Jennifer is hot. But :(((( that he couldn't bear to escape without Scott.

- AND THEN OKAY, THE PREVIEW FOR NEXT EP. Scott, Stiles and Allison all get dunked in ice tanks! Number one: Stiles will be shirtless? Number two: I don't know what this ritual means but it is exciting! Obviously will have something to do with their parents, since I assume Chris will be the third guardian. Prediction: the Stydia kiss happens because Stiles is panicking about the water/his dad. It looks like she's the one pushing him into the water.
