Another strange incident came from this. I'm not as upset with it. In fact, life is so good right now that complaining is pointless. I'm also not so selfish as to make a deal of it

do you think that because you've previously expressed a strong ambivalence towards marriage that maybe some people were unsure how to react?

i think our friends generally want us to be happy but sometimes when we 180 on something it raises people's hackles and gets them a bit rankled.

i also think that weddings can be very triggering for people who are going through rough patches in their own relationships, so it's totally possible that this person was feeling overwhelmed by their own stuff, you know?

I think there is something to be said with my old thoughts on marriage. I was a bitter man at some point, especially because of my past. My thoughts on marriage have adjusted

I know this is slightly creepy, but I'd love to hear about what you guys did. I'm planning my own shindig right now and it seams really hard to differ from tradition just because that is how the system is set up. I'd love to hear how you managed!
