Peacemakers

Have just discovered a Western tv show that ran only for 9 episodes, but seems interesting and very slashy. It's called Peacemakers. Could not find the dvd for sale on amazon, JB HiFi, Fishpond or any other suppliers. Could any kind soul give me some directions? Were the dvds ever made? How can I get a copy? I LOVE PEACEMAKERS. Sorry for the all-caps, but not *too* sorry, because I love that show. :D I watched it back when it originally ran on TV, and was so disappointed when it got cancelled. I've written fic for it a couple times since, and also received stories for Yuletide.

They haven't put it out on DVD, which is insane--I know they have prettied-up digital files, because at least the last time I heard, it was available on the Hulu streaming service, and it looked really nice on there. But Hulu is US-only anyway, so that wouldn't help you.

A very kind person on my Dreamwidth flist has a post about it here, which she is currently keeping unlocked. The files are VHS rips, but watchable.

I hope this helps! And I hope you enjoy. Let me know if I can assist in any other way, or if you ever want to discuss it etc.

Woo woo. How can I thank thee, let me count the ways :-) :-)

Have downloaded the first episode and on Thursday someone is coming over to show me how to "unzip" the file. (Can't wait). Since I am not on Dreamwidth, I cannot thank your friend, please do it on my behalf when you have time.

And oh yes, I am going to rush over to AO3.

I'm sorry for the delay with the zipped file! I wish I could talk you through it, but I suspect you have a PC, which I only use at work and am not fluent with. At home I have a Mac, where you just doubleclick on the zipped file and it opens it for you.

You could try doubleclicking on the zipped file, just for fun--or right-clicking and choosing a command like "Open" or "Extract" or "Extract All" if you see any?

One thing I found interesting about Peacemakers as a western is that it isn't set in the US southwest the way so many of them are. It's set in the Colorado territory, and filmed in Canada, so the settings tend to be more mountainy, chillier, pine trees, etc. Different look, different light.
