I love the twists to this - Jack and John planning for him to sit in the chair all along, Rodney being the one to turn on the drone. That definitely explains why Jack is so keen on John going to Atlantis with the expedition, Rodney's complaints aside. I love the idea of the SGC doing the smart thing and giving John gate experience before he leaves - that's how it should have gone. I wonder if Rodney's anger will even cool off - I suspect that even if he's not mad anymore, he's still going to be very standoffish with John. I am crazy eager to see how their relationship develops :D

I also love the idea of vampires being the creation of the Ancients to fight against the Wraith. That's very clever!

Thanks hon. In my head canon Jack has been plotting to get someone back to Pegasus since he found out the SGC were using the gate. I think he originally planned to go himself, but the SGC couldn't spare him for a one way mission, and John was his next best chance because he was already Air Force. Afghanistan messed up his plan A so he came up with the whole McMurdo thing. And of course Jack needed John to have gate time, for Jack's personal mission and because he needs to be able to protect the expedition ( ... )

I love it that Jack and John had a plan for John sitting in the chair the whole time, and Daniel looking thoughtfully at Rodney makes me wonder about all the things Daniel could tell him, if given the right opportunity.

I also really like the idea of the vampires as soldiers. It looks like you've really thought this fic out and I want more!
