Life, the universe and everything or what I did today

I had a visit today with Fiona, who is my personal contact with the hospital cardio team. No blood tests today, but blood pressure and heart rate are good and Fiona is happy with my progress in general ( Read more... )

Oh man, I love Sarah Madison's Sixth Sense series. A RIDICULOUS amount, really XD Feel free to fangirl my way any time :P

I would offer to beta, but my life is so crazy right now that I don't know how fast I'd be able to get it back to you. I don't want to make a promise I can't keep...

Laughs my ass off :-)

There is so much HP fic on AO3 and some of it is brilliant but some of it is simply awful. Still, we're not professional writers and not everyone has access to a beta, so you have to expect that.

OK, I think I'm one of maybe three fans who haven't read the HP books or seen the movies--don't know why, really, just being difficult I guess. As usual, it hasn't stopped me from reading fanfic, mostly by authors I love in other fandoms. There's one HP-only author I happened across who's really prime too, & who has written my very favorite Harry/Draco story. It's an epically long series of four fics by lomomaaeren {same name on Dreamwidth} called the Charming Universe [series index on AO3].

The author's description of the series:
Harry actually didn't mean to become a Dark Lord. It just sort of happened that way.
This series technically started with the one-shot "Charming When He Needs to Be", but "Easy as Falling", "Black Phoenix", and "Burning Day" are all finished prequels to it. Inspired by a request from sandersyager for Benevolently Snarky Dark Lord Harry.

So you should actually read "Charming When He Needs To Be" last--don't worry, just follow the series order on AO3. I've read the series all the way through twice & parts of it ( ... )

Thanks hun. I found this author on AO3 and have read several her novel length stories including this one.

I must admit I wasn't expecting to get into Harry/Draco but I read one story on Kiera Marcos' site and ended up getting hooked. If you haven't found her yet I'll send you a link.

Is it just me or do a lot of the interpretations of Harry/Draco read like a younger Rodney/John?

Actually, has anyone done a x-over where John is secretly James Potter or some other family member? Wizards as descendants of the ancients? Might need to take a couple of liberties with the timeline.

There are some SGA/Harry Potter crossovers or fusions: SGA+HP on AO3. I know Jedibuttercup wrote a couple of short "John is Harry" fics; there might well be others.
