"Hey, Kurt," Artie said, wheeling past his friend as he travelled along the corridor, heading for home. Well, he hoped Kurt was still his friend. Ever since the Tina debacle, he didn't know where he stood with Kurt and Mercedes.
He'd been late at the AV club, trying to figure out with Lauren the best way to stop Jacob Ben Israel from bugging the ladies bathrooms.
Kurt blinked out of his contemplative thoughts and glanced down at the voice. "Hey, Artie," he replied. Truth was, Kurt made the decision to fence sit with the whole Tina and Artie thing. It wasn't his battle to go in fighting for, and they were both his friends. He could see both view points, and sure, he had reassured Tina that he was okay with the lie, because he was. It wasn't like he hadn't done the same before he finally got the balls to come out.
But he also did understand how Artie could be hurt over the lying. At the end of the day, though, this was high school, and sometimes you just had to do whatever the hell it took to keep your head above water. If it was inventing a stutter or joining the football team, so be it. "Haven't seen you around much."
Artie gave an embarrassed shrug. "I've been busy," he said, though it was only partly true. He'd done more with the jazz ensemble, with the AV club in an effort to fill the gap in his life that Tina had left. He was starting to realize just how much he missed how, how he had spent so much time with her.
"How's football?" he asked, curiously. Kurt Hummel joining the football team was the subject of a lot of gossip, even amongst the circles he was involved in.
Kurt nodded in understanding. A lot of people had bene busy in general. Some where throwing themselves wholeheartedly into this Glee assignment, and others were trying to find other things to distract them from it. "A lot of that going around. New projects, that play thing with the Theatre kids. Things are all over the place."
"Hot, sweaty, noisy, rough," he reeled off, scrunching his nose up a little. "But my Dad thinks it's really cool."
