Who? Artie Abrams and Tina Cohen-Chang What? Impromptu first date When? Nighttime, New Year's Eve (after leaving Santana's shindig early) Where? Cohen-Chang house Rating: PG-13?
Artie was lost in his own thoughts as they went to Tina's house. He was nervous, yes, but he was also happy. He and Tina had finally resolved their differences properly, and he, for the first time in his life, had a girlfriend. An actual girlfriend!
He smiled at her as she bounced up to the door to open it, then brushed off the ramp. "Thank you," he said sincerely as he gave himself a large push to make it up the ramp. He really did appreciate the effort that Tina had made - while it wasn't much, it made the world of difference to him. It was nice to not have to go to his house all of the time.
He pushed himself into the hallway, and took his jacket off as Tina closed the door, suddenly more nervous than he had been. What exactly was he supposed to do on a date? Normally he and Tina would just chill out, watching a movie or play each other some music. What if he got it wrong?
After shutting the door and hanging her coat up on a nearby hook, Tina found herself wondering "Now what?" She stood there for a few moments, trying to brainstorm suggestions. Suddenly, she realized her hands hurt - she looked at them, they were a little red from the cold of wiping away the snow. She felt a little dumb for not wearing gloves, but it gave her an idea.
"Umm, do you want anything? I was thinking about making some hot chocolate," she said, blowing into her hands and rubbing them together.
"A hot chocolate sounds great," Artie nodded. "Thank you." He looked at the way she was rubbing her hands. "You shouldn't have let yourself get so cold," he said gently.
Tina nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, I know. I feel like a total dummy 'cause I had gloves in my coat pocket." She shrugged, beginning to head towards the kitchen. "Too late now." She stopped and turned to look at him. "Um, i-if you want, you can get comfy in the living room. Or follow me to the kitchen, wh-whatever." God, were all first dates this nerve-wracking or did planning it ahead of time make it easier?
