Puck parked his truck in Artie's driveway. This was weird. He still couldn't figure out how this had all gone down, but he was really glad it did. Grabbing his bookbag from the passenger's seat, the boy climbed out of the truck, and slung the bag over his shoulder.

Walking up to the door, he rang the bell, then stepped back, feeling kind of weird about this whole thing. Did Artie's parents know who he was? That he was the asshole who used to lock their son in portapotties and run him up the flagpole by his underwear? Were they gonna give him that same look that parents always gave him when he showed up at their houses? That look that plainly said, "We don't like you being here, take your Jewish mohawked ass and get the hell out of my house"?

Sighing to himself, he ran his hand over his mohawk. He'd just have to see how this went.

The fact it was Noah Puckerman coming round had caused a fair bit of argument in the Abrams household. Mrs Abrams wasn't convinced that her son's new friendship was a good thing - especially not after the patriotic wedgie incident, and it had caused two arguments already since Artie had been home from school.

But Artie had been insistent, telling her that Puck had changed, and give him a chance. Something which Mrs Abrams reluctantly agreed to - once. But she was keeping a close eye on things.

All of which Puck was unaware of. Artie's twelve year old sister flung open the door, staring at Puck and his mohawk. "Artie!" she yelled. "Your friend with the weird hair is here!"

Artie came out from the family room. "Em," he complained, shrugging at Puck as if to say 'sisters? What can you do with them?'. "Shoo." When Emma had left, he glanced at Puck. "Sorry about that. Come in."

Puck put on his best "meeting a friend's family" smile when the door swung open, only to be greeted by Artie's little sister, and her yelled commentary on his hair. The boy's hand instinctively ran over his mohawk. His hair wasn't weird. It was badass! Oh, well. Can't expect little kids to recognize badassness when they see it.

When Artie came into view, Puck immediately calmed a little. Artie was going to be one hell of a good friend. He knew that much already. "It's all good, dude," Puck said, walking into the house, and letting his bookbag slide off his shoulder and into his hand.

Artie led the way through to the dining room. "Thought here would be best," he explained, moving a chair out of the way so he could sit at the table. "You bring your last test so I can see what I need to focus on? And want a drink of something?" Artie's attitude was always get the work done first, goof off afterwards.
