Kurt had a distinct wave of guilt as he arrived at Artie's place for not inviting Blaine along. He spent the whole drive over contemplating texting him, but he kept backing out every time. He didn't even know why he was sitll avoiding him, but things were awkward, especially after Blaine's whole 'I can't date you because you're too easy' speech. Kurt knew it didn't have the blatant meaning it sounded like it did, but it also wasn't something Kurt could get his head around no matter how hard he tried. He was just supposed to accept that? Be okay with it? Harry and Sally, friends forever?

Screw it.

He punched his finger pointedly against Artie's doorbell, three tubes of Pringles tucked under his arm. Tonight was about McKinley and his old friends, and nothing about Blaine or Dalton. Even if he had to sit through Star Wars again.

Sam locked his car and bounded up the drive to where he could see Kurt standing on the front step ringing Artie's doorbell. "Kurt, hey!" he called out to get the other guy's attention. He reached Kurt's side by the door and gave him a smile.

"Didn't expect to see you here tonight. Actually I really didn't peg you as a Star Wars fan... and no Blaine? He sick or something?" he asked as he switched the large bottle of Coke from one hand to the other. Why was it, that no matter where they were, Kurt always looked immaculate? Sam felt like a bag lady standing next to him most of the time, even if what he was wearing was top-range sports clothes or even Levi jeans.

"My Dad is, and Finn is, so I watch by default. Actually, when I made Dad sit through all the Leonardo DiCaprio films from years 1996 to 2002, he made me watch all six Star Wars films, and I actually started to like them... especially Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor... particularly Ewan McGregor," Kurt added with a smirk.

But his lips soon pursed at the the mention of Blaine and he cleared his throat. "I didn't invite him. Maybe Artie did, but he's not coming with me. I thought I could just hang out with my old friends alone. I miss you guys."

Sam laughed at this, and he could really imagine Kurt sitting down with his Dad and watching the films. He had met Mr Hummel at the wedding, and he was way cool. Cooler than most dads, and he really cared about Kurt. "Did your Dad know you were perving on the actors?"

Luckily he managed to stifle the urge to do a happy dance at knowing Blaine wasn't coming and Kurt was alone. He really had to stop thinking like that, but it was nice to indulge very fleetingly. "Well, it's awesome you came, dude. It's been too long since we all hung out... boozeless, I mean. Never drinking again. I can't even remember what I drank."
