Kurt's facebook comment had been enough to send Jeff off at a mad dash through the hospital, trying to get to the bay where Nick was. Well... at least some semblance

"Oh my god, please tell me you're not all Patrick Swayze and visiting me from the grave!" Nick cried with a near hysterical laugh of relief escaping him. Other than Kurt and Finn, Nick had no news on anything that was going on and they wouldn't let him leave until they knew his brain wasn't bleeding or about to fall out of his nose... or something. Sure, he had a headache, but he still wanted out of here to know that everyone was okay.

He looked over his bandaged arm. "I'll be okay, it's nothing. They just had to help all the other worse off people than me first."

"Totally not Patrick Swayze," Jeff said, hugging Nick, careful of his best friend's bandaged arm. "But I'm pretty sure I could dirty dance like a boss," he added, trying desperately to hang on to what humor he could, considering he didn't know what the hell was going on.

Jeff rubbed tired eyes as he stood there, just glad to know that, in this whole mess? He and Nick were okay. "I was freakin' scared, Nicky, and Kurt says Blaine's in surgery, and... Oh, God..." Jeff was suddenly on the verge of tears again. This whole thing had turned him into an emotional wreck, and he was up one moment, down the next. "I'm... I'm glad you're okay, though..." he said finally, forcing himself to focus on the good before the bad killed him.

Nick felt like crying again too. He turned into a bawling and snotty mess with Kurt who was fine with it, but he was trying to save face in front of Jeff for some reason. But when he spoke, his voice came out all choked and disjointed. "Blaine was here, in the bed next door. I heard them, then they took him away. He looked dead in that car, I was worried he was dead. I-I can't believe he needs surgery."

He sucked in a breath, still trying not to cry. "My head hurts, this is horrible. It was some drunk dude. Who would do that?"

Jeff's heart ached. This was far too much for a bunch of high school kids to deal with, and he had no idea what he was supposed to think or do or say to make anything better, or if there even was anything. "Is... Is he gonna be okay? Did they say?" Jeff's attempts to fight the tears were quickly failing, and slowly, he sank down into a chair, covering his face with his hands.

"I don't know, Nicky," he said softly, his voice weak and choked with tears. "We all could've... Any one of us... It..." He couldn't make sense of any of it, and all he knew in this moment was that he needed his best friend.
