The shower felt really nice for Blaine after sleeping for so long and finally getting out of the hospital. He couldn't deny that the help Kurt gave him with the dots on the bottles meant so much to him, but he was already feeling like a burden. He was feeling like he was in the way, feeling like he was useless. But at the same time, he knew there wasn't a single thing he could do about it, so why keep crying over it? When he broke down, he exhausted himself and caused himself pain, which set back his recovery anyway. He knew now that he just had to try and go with it without getting too frustrated, even if he he had snapped at Kurt repeatedly the day before after getting out of the hospital. Kurt just took it in his stride, though. He didn't snap back, he didn't get upset.
With a soft sigh, Blaine slowly and carefully explored the things on the tray with his fingertips and then picked up a piece of the toast. "I don't know if I can eat much. Will you share it with me?"
"Okay, we'll aim for half each," Kurt reassured him and rubbed his fingers over the back of Blaine's hand. It wasn't like Blaine would see if he smiled encouragingly, is it? One thing Kurt was learning fast was other little ways to emphasise his words, and he had quickly learnt also that the tone of his voice was vital. Sitting and mumbling out something when Blaine couldn't see his facial features had earned Blaine snapping angrily at him to speak up and stop mumbling. Of course, Kurt initially took offense until Blaine explained that he only snapped because he couldn't tell Kurt's feelings with a few mumbled words without seeing his face
