Creationism

Sep 30, 2008 00:20

I just read (at the Huffington page) that Gov. Palin is "open" to the idea of teaching creationism in public schools.  Add this one to her stand on abortion (never, no way and out of the question, she says) I am simply appalled that any woman in America would even consider voting for a ticket that includes her name.
I really, really do despair.  How ( Read more... )

I've just been reading a piece (in a magazine, not online) by Simon Schama in which he says Palin makes George Bush look like Karl Marx. He also reckons McCain/Palin will win - in his opinion, Obama is simply not standing up for himself adequately against Palin's attacks. I find it very worrying that McCain could win, even more so after I read Schama's remarks about the likelihood of longevity in a man of his age who's had skin cancer. You could end up with Palin as President.
As for creationism - or should we call it "Intelligent Design" ::sarcasm:: - I think one of the problems with Evolution is the scientific terminology which is simply not understood. I've had this argument with my husband, a reasonably intelligent man, who claims that as it's a "Theory of Evolution" it's not proven ::screams loudly::
Whenever I get pissed off about it all, I go here - http://www.venganza.org/

This just keeps getting scarier and scarier. The thought of that woman being president is just... Lord, I just don't know what to say. Methinks we are in deep shit.
Thanks so much for the link. I hadn't seen this site - too, too fun. I shall put it at the top of my favs so I can find it quickly.

Honey, all I can say is heaven help us if they get in. I wouldn't vote for her based on the abortion attitude alone. I mean what kind of woman would make her daughter have the child of a rapist? But add this and the whole it's okay to shoot wolves from a helicopter with a high powered rifle and I really don't want her in office.

Jesus!
Wolves from hilicopters?
Hadn't heard that one...
The abortion attitude turned me off of her from the getgo, and everything I hear and read makes me dislike and disrespect her more.

Yeah, the wolf thing bothers me too, as well as her attitude towards indigenous Alaskans and minorities (racial and religious) and some of the things that have been reported about how she's used her position to get back at people who didn't go along with her.

So, darling, I can't possibly explain how any thinking person of either gender would want her a heartbeat away from the presidency, but I said that about Dan Quayle, and Cheney, too.

LOL
This old age thing really sucks, doesn't it?
Troopergate is pretty frightening when you realize she might end up as president (I don't hold out much hope for McCain's longevity)and have that kind of power at her fingertips. I'm just so frustrated because no matter what information comes out about her, the media and the republicans just love her more and more.
