So I started a project, and I don't know if it'll become standard or not, but I'm very happy with it.

Yeah, CSS 3 column-count isn't even a standard yet. :-P

But it is implemented. The article you linked to actually contains a portable implementation written in JavaScript. It's pretty impressive. Take a look: http://www.csscripting.com/css-multi-column/example4.php

View the source. All you have to do is paste one line of code (the tag) into your page and set the appropriate CSS style (column-count: 3) on the article's main

It sucks to be telling you to throw away your work (especially since it's such a cool hack) but dude, seriously, throw it away. Client-side JavaScript is the way to go.

I tried that before doing this and it didn't work. I don't think Livejournal supports external Javascript.
