holy crap...iwasawaSeptember 21 2005, 20:04:09 UTC
good lord, just read your post and am stunned. First and foremost GOOD for you in taking the kids. As stupid as it is, there tends to be a bias against fathers being the sole parent.. its just assumed the kids always go with the Mom when a split occurs.. so good for you in beating that trend!
With respect to your ex.. not much you can do really.. she sounds like she is too busy worrying about herself right now. Her threats to take the kids don't sound serious.. they sound more like inflammatory comments made by someone who wants to be the center of attention.
Having been out of MY lousy marriage for a few years, I can safely say it gets better. Maybe not all at once.. but over time. the financial thing improves and the kids relationship with you will be unreal. I have never been closer to my kids than I am now..
oh yeah, living with the parents seems to be one of the stages.. I did that as well.. had to commute almost three hours a day to get to work.
Hang in there man.. all of this will be a distant bad dream in a few years. :)

Well thank you for your support. I am not sure how much I took the kids as much as I feel like she left them with me. (longer story) I can agree with your statement that I am closer to my kids then I have been in the past it definately is nice.
i, too, am practically speechless. good for you for taking your boys. i don't think their mother is a very good judge of character (no offense to you... you seem super cool.) i just wanted to say what's up! :) hope you have a great day.
Hello new friend! I see that you have friended me so I friended you back. I was trying to find people in the area to talk to but since I am not a paid memeber I dont have that option. I commend you on raising your boys. My fiance has full costody of his little girl and I am the only mom she has ever had. We are a great family. I love her like if she was my own. I like your kids names very cool. I see we also have some same interest so nice to meet ya!
Sounds great. Nice to meet you too. Be honest your quizzes are what caused me to add you, besides being local. I am often bored so I tend to find them very ammuzing.
living with relatives IS one of the stages. i did it, too.
i can't believe you actually managed to stay with your ex even while she was having someone else's child. that just blows my mind. i have to give you kudos for being strong enough to handle that. sounds to me like you did the right thing in getting her out of your life, finally, and even more importantly, out of your childrens' lives as well. they don't deserve a selfish and uncaring mother, so they're better off not having one at all if that's how she wants to be.
if it's okay with you, i'd like to be added to your friends.

TRUTH BE KNOWN THAT I AM SURE HE FAILED TO MENTION THAT HE WALKED OUT ON HER AND THE KIDS. I AM SURE IT WASN'T MENTIONED THAT SHE TOOK THE KIDS AND MOVED INTO A HOMELESS SHELTER. I AM SURE THAT IT WASN'T MENTIONED THAT WHILE SHE WAS IN THAT GOD FOR AWFUL PLACE THAT SHE TRIED TO GET BACK WITH HIM AND HE ONLY DENIED HER. I COULD GO ON BUT WHAT A JOKE. I HOPE SCHOOLING AND LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY WAS WORTH IT TO YOU.....

people who type in all caps annoy me. but thanks for sharing your input in a place where you were not asked to do so.
truth be told, if i'd been with a bitch who did the kind of shit she pulled, i'd have walked out on her sorry ass, too. and sometimes, leaving your kids is not something you can avoid, but you plan to be with them again ASAP. who's to say that wasn't his plan all along?
from what i can gather, she probably just tried to get back with him because she knew he'd take care of things. as a woman, i know how manipulative and evil we can be.
this is not to discredit your story at all, but really, there's a flip side to every coin. and there are no innocent victims. got it?
Hi From NY!imagine_kdgOctober 3 2005, 02:38:10 UTC
Sounds like you're a great dad and your kids are lucky to have you :)
Hope it's okay if I friend ya... Where did you live in Upstate NY? I'm in Dutchess County, NY and just curious! Visited your current neck of the woods last year (KC for Thanksgiving)... beautiful country!
Have faith, you'll meet someone worthwhile - and when you do, it'll be electric!

I stayed in Fair Haven, NY. Our house (cabin) was on a bluff overlooking 'Blind Sodus Bay'. If your not familiar with that we were about 5min to the west of Sterling where they keep the resasance (sp?) festival every year. Beautiful view, great weather, hated to move away but; it was a very small community and well small towns talk alot. So I felt like it was more reasonable to move back to KC.
