weekend update
thursday-drank a bottle of wine at our plastic surgery seminar. katie drove us to cup & saucer. saw nick bock and a few other people that make me want to burn my eyes out. (i'm still an expert watermelon carrier around him.) those who get the obscure dirty dancing reference, i salute you. went to tootsie's to see zach. saw zach and a drag king show. quite entertaining. several free shots were consumed and then katie took me home. noel and i had our usual declamation. he left, i went to bed.
friday-woke up at 7:00, got the kids dressed, fed, and packed. waited around for my mom who never showed up, so i called my gramma. finally, my mom and gramma show up simultaneously and i send my babies off with two crazy women. i haphazardly pack and katie picks me up. four hour drive. i read "metamorphosis" by kafka. didn't get it. finished "the wolves of calla" by stephen king. so so. started reading a collection of short stories by somebody else... check in to the hampton inn on market street and it was super nice. i highly recommend it. showered. went to the hill and ate at cunetto's. it was forgettable except for the baked ravioli. drove around downtown. went back to the hotel and slept like i haven't in years. i'm not even kidding.
saturday-woke up around 9:00, late for me! ate biscuits and gravy downstairs. not so good. went directly to their upscale mall and spent money i didn't have on clothes i didn't need. however, i bought this ubercool pink burberry looking coat on sale for $50, down from $200. score. had a facial at 2:00. awesome. ate some taco bell. awesome. toured the anheuser-busch brewery. sampled some new trial beers. way gross. took a nap. went to the city museum. i can't even describe how cool this was. caves, tunnels, mazes, hands on art projects, two story slides, a ball pit, an aquarium, a skate park, an improve stage, a fire pit, a three story metal jungle gym, and a bar. i've never done anything cooler. my sister says it's in the same building that spooks in space was in, but i don't know. it was for adults, dates, families, and kids. and it was open until 1:00am. kansas city sucks in this department.
went back to the hotel and tried to watch snl, but nascar was on. went to bed around midnight.
sunday-woke up around 9:00 drank two cups of coffee and tried to get on the internet downstairs while katie took her sweet ass time getting ready. waited for thirty minutes just have the computer crash as soon as i sat down. checked out. went to the zoo. BETTER THAN KC, NOT AS GOOD AS OMAHA. (sorry about the caps) drove home. noel had the kids at the house, so i didn't have to pick them up and he bathed them while i unpacked and did laundry. crashed and burned around 11:00.
now i need a vacation from my vacation.
