Heroes, 1.20 "Five Years Gone"

There is an appalling lack of Mr. Bennet icons which is unacceptable because he is awesome and I think he's hot, in an older man, authority figure sort of way. Especially when he has more stylish glasses in the future.

So...  didn't like this episode. Partially because I don't like time traveling into the future storylines because they're always ( Read more... )

The only thing I like about the Sylar reveal is that it put Nathan back at "ambiguous" instead of just "really, really sucky."

Peter is still the reluctant hero. The only point I don't agree with on your list of "still"s. Mostly because he was actually pretty interested in being a hero in the present, wasn't he? Maybe I forgot some part of his arc, as I haven't wholly been interested in it. He does have the best chemistry with his family members though, which is unfortunate.

Good point. I was fooled because I could totally buy that Nathan's idea of a solution was to make everyone "normal" again. But I knew something was up when he tells Mohinder that he's going to use the fake cure even if it kills people. It's funny how the morally gray characters are the ones I like the most on Heroes, because I'm usually all about the clear-cut "good guys".

And you're right about Peter. I should have phrased it differently, because what I meant to say that he was still trying to be a hero while his loved ones are still trying to talk him out of it.

Aw, I liked it :( Some parts were annoying (Nikki, Matt MOHINDER! except when he's killing) but I kinda squeed when it turned out Nathan really was Sylar because well, that was awesome. And he did say Nathan had already turned against them before he killed him.

Mr. Bennet I have mixed feelings about. I get how everyone thinks he's awesome but for me, he's definitely no Jack Bristow and I keep waiting for him to break out the awesome and he keeps disappointing.

Ando was the best damn part of the show. "He's trying to save you." XDDDD Oh gosh, if Hiro and Ando were cute and if I were less shallow I would slash them like a crazy person. Damnit, now I want friendship fic about them!

Someone said that Syler meant "betrayal" in the sense that Nathan had betrayed them when he blamed Syler (a mutant special person) for the explosion, which was what made everyone hate/fear them in the first place. And I love Nathan, for all his flaws, so I'm going to accept that interpretation.

I think Mr. Bennet definitely has the potential to be as awesome as Jack Bristow. But even Jack needed a couple seasons to become as great as he was :)
