That night we spent in New York, getting the last pair of tickets to the sold out show! Greeting the actors at the stage door after and then, drunk on excitement and the flush of celebrity, walking down the streets until we found that tiny little cafe--sitting outside under the lights in the warm air and feeling the breeze cooling off the city as we drank the best shakes either of us could ever remember having.
That WAS an amazing night, wasn't it? I wish I could remember the name of the cafe - I could go for one of those shakes! But I still listen to the cast album from that show all the time.
You know how it is, the best finds are the ones you get by accident and magically can't recall the name of. I'm sure if we went back, we'd be able to retrace our steps.
Oh man...there are just so many to choose from...good times, good times. I guess the memory that sticks the most in my mind, because it was when we had our first--"don't you trust me moment."
It was in the fifth grade and everyone was getting short hair and my mom wouldn't let me get mine cut...so one day, while I was at your house--hoping your super cute brother would come home from the arcade before I had to go home--you volunteered to cut it for me.
And I only had to wear the baseball hat for two weeks until my bangs grew back!! Yep, good times indeed. But I still owe you a cut!!
