Yesterday, I looked at my favourite jacket and had a fright: the sleeves were coming away from the body. This was immediately designated Not Good, and so I was off on my travels today. You have no idea how many cheap needles I broke sewing a the Expedition XV patch on my jacket, you seriously have to pick the right needles for the job. You're fortunate to have a good mom and sister to reference. I on the other hand have to shop at really strange hours and got the wrong brand, I finally found the missing part of one of the needles about a month after I finished sewing it on. Still in the patch and sticking into my arm no less. Of course I wasn't using a machine.

Machine needles have informative ratings on them. The package specifically said "Jeans" right on it, so I figured it'd be the right tool. Of course, even with that, I've been given hints as to how to make it easier...

The ones I kept breaking said upholstry, the ones I have at work that seem to be better actually say carpet on them. I didn't see any carpet ones last time I went shopping, guess I need to bring the carpet ones I bought for my tool bag home.
