Post-election thoughts

Well, Kerry has conceded, the election is over and the person who won the popular vote is now our president-elect. I don't like the idea of 4 more years of Bush any more than I did before, but it's nice to see how smooth this election was compared to 2000. The people have spoken, and the courts and electoral college actually agreed with them, and ( Read more... )

should we allow women to vote? what about those negroes? should they be able to vote? i mean seriously thats just WEIRD

the bible CLEARLY states women are not to be in a position of power. so they should not be able to vote!

hello, I'm the early to mid 1900s. I'd like to repeat myself in the form of gay rights now. Thank you.

After looking up what juxtapose means, I have concluded that it means to place side by side. Awesomely humorous.

Did you vote?

And amidst all the current turmoil, a state amendment will be nothing but a foot note in the history books. Now, what will be interesting is if GWB gets to put some people in the supreme court. Then get ready for some real fun with the Constitution!

Of course I voted. That's why I'm allowed to have righteous anger.

It's true that a single state amendment wouldn't be anything major in history, but 1/5 of the states amending their constitutions to prevent gay marriage will be more than a footnote. It'll at least deserve a couple sentences. Something dull like "In 2004, gay rights took center stage in American politics as 11 states passed amendments to prevent gay marriage. These amendments were later anulled, along with all constitutions, in 2006 when our Supreme Robot Overlords invaded Earth and abolished all forms of human government." Then there'll be a section about the robot government, and on the next test there'll be a question about how many states passed gay marriage amendments. A test question! We are indeed living in historic times.

Excuse me, Sirs.

But the BIBLE says "Adam and Eve" not "Adam and Steve"

(this was meant to make you laugh at those who are homophobic and not meant to make you attack me with righteous anger. I voted no on both proposals and against that Communist Dubya Bush.)
(Why is Bush a Communist? Why were his states represented in RED? Why does he not like gays? Why did Hitler not like gays?)
