Because it makes me feel so disconnected from them. Especially with the new album, they talk about their heros and inpirations and I just feel so clueless when they talk about these things that changed their lives and I have no idea what they're talking about. Most of the bands I hadn't even heard of before the guys started talking about them and I dunno if its loving these bands as much as its having heard of them, it just makes me feel bad for being so clueless.

It's kinda like me because I like MCR, but I absolutely can't stand Morrissey, The Misfits, and Black Flag. I do however like metal, which is really weird, considering most MCR fans tend to like other bands like Taking Back Sunday and The Used (I can't stand them either)
1: me too. 2: i disagree. i prefer the makeup, tbh. 6: f'realz. 9: they're trying too hard to look serious. 11: just because they like it doesn't mean their fans have to. 13: i still wonder who exactly 'k' was. 16: ME TOO! 18: see a doctor. 19: same. :( 20: me too. 28: good idea. 31: lmao, my friend saw gerard and some girl trying on that costume at the store she works in in belleville like a month ago. seeing eliza post about her costume the other day only confirmed to me once and for all that they were dating. shame if it seemed that he was only focusing on her. if that was the case, he should realise the shoes are for fans who don't get to see him and his band everyday.
i saw him blow a kiss to her during his performance and i thought it was sweet....
then i saw him all over her too and i just lost ALL my respect for him...it was like he lied or something...he's always saying he performs for the fans, but that day, the fans were just their to take up space between him and eliza. it was the WORST show i've ever seen because i felt so disconnected from their "message".
I don't really get why people are making such a huge fuss about the whole situation behind 31. Most people have known about Eliza for a while so why start stuff about her now just cause Gerard was giving her some attention at a show. Most people have been wanting to know if they were going out for sure and now we know and some just seem really angry and disappointed about it. It was an awesome performance from what I saw from online, so it seems kinda shady that people are basing the entire show on Gerard and his alleged interaction with his girlfriend. God forbid he make eye contact with her and blow her a kiss during a performance...the nerve of some people. (lol

I agree with you completely. I've been lurking in this is community for a while now, always hoping that I wouldn't come across any more secrets about the band's personal life. I always end up feeling disappointed in the fandom when I read those kind of things (although I think it's alright to be a little curious, as long as everything isn't blown out of proportion). I have also seen the Halloween show where people have supposedly been accusing Gerard of paying more attention to Eliza than the fans, and I didn't notice anything of the sort. Them having girlfriends has not, in any way, affected the message of the band.
Let's keep our focus on the music from now on, please.
I wonder why some people react the way they do when it's Gerard/Eliza, but when he was with his old girlfriend, no one cared. It's the same with Mikey, when no one really cared about Jeanna, but freaked out over Alicia.
Eliza has never mentioned her relationship with Gerard.
Ok so Alicia HAS been completely out there, almost to the point of annoyance, defending her relationship with Mikey.
But even when Elixa had her myspace page, she never once even mentioned Gerard. I don't think she is the type to brag about it. She seemed adorable from her profile.
So Gerard has a girlfriend and it just happens to be her. Big deal. I don't know who is more lucky, Gerard or Eliza. She is beautiful.
How many MCR fans that have been bashing her lately have boyfriends/husbands/fiances etc? How would you react if someone came along bashing them for no reason?
there was less about Jeanna to know but even so there were still plenty of comments about her being a bitch, being fat and nothing special and stories about throwing coffee at fans. all that fun stuff (the veracity of which i don't know, just fyi).
with alicia it's worse because she's pretty comfortable being out there for everyone to see so people have five hundred million more things to needlessly work themselves up about. i say good for her.
it's all utterly bizarre. the only thing that really irks me about them is the lack of grammar and spelling and those seem pretty minor given most peoples "grievances". you'd think they were out to destroy the world, which for most kids is the band but i sincerely doubt either eliza or alicia has any interest at all in breaking up mcr. i suppose people get over-protective but it's barmy.
