Drummers

So I've been totally out of the loop MCR-wise for what feels like forever, it took me months just to find out Bob had left the band, (you'd think graduating college would give you more time, not less) and I have a question that has been nibbling at my brain for a while ( Read more... )

Mike Pedicone (who is awesome), but we don't know if he's meant to be a permanent replacement. I keep hearing that, live, Gerard kept saying that the band works better as a four-piece set right now (idk if that's true or not; you know how rabid fans like to make up shit that Gerard has supposedly said live, so who knows) and they haven't actually confirmed that he's anything but a touring drummer right now. Mike said that he's part of their "family" now, and that we should "get used" to him being around, but again, nothing has actually been said about what exactly that means.

it could end up like the situation in 30 seconds to mars, their old bassist left and the new guy is pretty much permanent, without being 'official'.

Whoops, nevermind! Mike just said himself that he's simply a hired drummer, but he's at least going to stick around MCR for a while.

Meaning he's simply a touring drummer, not a part of the band that's going to ever be in-studio with them or anything (thus far, anyway).

I'm glad that they have him to tour with and haven't jumped so quickly into replacing Bob's place. I think I prefer it this way.

KATIE! *glomps*
