Wow, reading this made me remember that I discovered you via the dS story "A Year (more or less) in the life" which is STILL one of my favorite fanfic stories ever. Wow, time flies!
I adore "Last Man Reshuffle" but it breaks my heart, even with the satisfying ending (...trying not to be spoilery here...). I'd LOVE the reverse, to see what would happen if it were Rodney left without John. I mean there is "Freedom..." but, hmmm, I think you'd have a really unique twist on it. *pokes*
Seems like decades ago since I wrote that story. Sometimes I think it's the best thing I've ever written on LJ.
I've thought about writing it from Rodney's POV, but they sort of handled that already, what with his relationship with Keller and then him working like hell to get John back. It was done (but not done well, more like a throw the kitchen sink at it).
Well it's certainly in my top five fanfics I've ever read. I don't reread too many fanfic stories, tbh, so the ones I do you know are spectacular. Like yours!
I agree, "Last Man" sort of covered that ground...in a very OOC, gen kind of way. Kitchen sink indeed. Which is *why* I hope that someday you'll write your own spin on it! *blameless*
Boxers. It's canon baby. Apparently Joe's kept showing in different shots because he has no hips or ass to keep his pants up. sigh...
In real life, David wears a thong or a jock. Just to let his delicious bottom take ahem centre stage. And Joe wears boxers. You've heard of Joe Boxer right.
Thanks for the link to your A03. I'll be bookmarking the link. :)
Cassie Clair's Very Secret Diaries on LOTR I haven't read a lot of LotR fanfic, but "Still the prettiest" is one of the things that stick with you forever :D
For me, SGA doesn't work without the two of them as center stage for the story. I agree. I even made a little graphic once about the layers of the show with the two of them at the center (it was to illustrate how things had changed in season 4/5).
Before Rodney can erupt into a now very familiar rant, John says, "Thanks," get up from the table while simultaneously grabbing Rodney's arm, and steers him out the door. Hehe. John really does know Rodney--in so many ways ;)
Boxers or briefs? We should have explicitly made that question "What question do you wish we'd asked? And what's your answer?"!

You know it's just the visuals, right? Because either/or work for me!
