Thank you! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving as well. My second cousin is hosting dinner for the first time and has spent the day putting together traditional dishes as well as some surprises. (Call me old fashioned but a butter squash soup flavored with jalapenos doesn't seem very Thanksgivingy to me but she loved it.)

I'm a fan of the more traditional Thanksgiving fare myself. Butter squash soup sounds like something I might try, but with the jalapeno flavoring? Yikes.

My sister-in-law is bringing sweet potato casserole, but she said she put a new spin on it this year---so we shall see. Must be the year for trying out surprises!

Have a nice day tomorrow---I know that you will be thinking of your mom a lot--I'll be thinking of mine too. Hang in there!

Thankfully they also had potato soup, which at least half of us at dinner had instead so everyone was happy.

They also made sweet potato biscuits instead of our traditional butter horn rolls. They were good, but I was promised butter horn rolls for Christmas dinner.

I did have a good day. My cousin sat next to me at dinner and her daughter's in-laws were a lot of fun. Of course, with a 2 year-old around it's easy to keep your mind occupied. I hope you were able to enjoy the day with your family.
