my left foot

I have been pulling shifts of like 8 hours standing. needless to say there is some pain involved. the big toe on my left foot feels like it's asleep. i do have sensation but it feels very odd. thoughts? ideas?

so far i have given my feet foot scrubs and kept my weight off them for most of the past 4 hours.

My grandmother had this exact same problem when she worked retail. What you need to do is soak your feet in warm water and keep massaging them while you do. That'll get circulation back in there and help it feel better.

I would also recommend, if the pain continues consistently and for a prolonged amount of time, going to see a doctor.

Also, what kind of shoes are you wearing?

Oh I definately have good shoes. I had been switching between 2 pairs after 4 hours. Yesterday was the first day I did all the hours in one pair. They were cheap Payless slip resistant ones but I added orthodics them. The line of the sock got under my toe for awhile before I readjusted it and that seems to be the area that's most affected, so I am definately looking forward to getting good socks for Christmas.
