My ten favorite movies that could be labeled 2006 (either getting a national theatrical release by Dec 30th 2005, or if they didn't get one, a DVD release). Very limited by my resources and laziness

It's always hard for me to make "top" anything lists, so I don't. A few comments on yours though:
I loved A Scanner Darkly and Tristram Shandy. I absolutely adored Brick. I missed the others but almost all of them are on the top of my "to see" list. The Science of Sleep being the most notable of those.
Marie Antoinette was alright and I thought Little Miss Sunshine was wonderful.
Question: Have you seen Pan's Labyrinth or Children Of Men? I haven't yet, as they both are quite new limited release, but I have a feeling they would rank highly on my never to be made list.

I'm impressed that you got to those. I wonder if Brick will eventually develop it's own semi-cult. It has the requisite comic book elements, but with a killer atmosphere. And in a (loosely) roundabout way, it's the same subject as Veronica Mars ;-)
Little Miss Sunshine didn't do it for me...genuine human moments and subversive ideas smothered by sitcom-y characters and familiar dark family comedy exchanges. Not bad or anything....I was thrown off a little because the trailer was more joke oriented.

I thought Children of Men would be in Jacksonille by now, but no dice. I've heard it's good, not great but I'm intrigued anyways. Pan's will hopefully show up here later, but I may hafta wait for a DVD

i almost never see movies the year they come outYeah, I've had a surprisingly productive year by my low standards (in the moviewatching regard, anyways

I had a dream where everyone around me became vampires and I was trying to find a solution by calling people like french film critic Serge Daney (wtf????) Usually my dumb story dreams have happy endings but in this one they overtook me and turned me nmto a vampire.
Hey mcshutup. I thought I should say "hey" instead of just add you and wait for you to maybe add me back and then if you didn't, unadd you again. Heh. This isn't the first time I've seen your journal and I have no idea where I saw it before. Were you ever friends with ignoramus? OK. Later.
Lol, yeah I've had more people come and go from my friends list before I had a chance to even comment in their LJ, so I am for introducing yourself, thanx.
Yeah, I was lj-friends with Ignoramus. I think I still am, but he hasn't posted in, like, years.
Thanks! We should throw a party, next wednesday, on the Ny State of Mind beat, and invite Mikah 9, Grand Puba and maybe Phife Dawg if he brings a present.
Yeah, I started watching it weekly a few weeks before the break, when the cleverest eps were on. Hopefully it won't slow down the pace too much when it gets back. Unfortunately, it looks like the girl from Brick is gone for good =-(, but I'll be watching
