I really like it when Rodney gets to show that he is REALLY smart: romance novels notwithstanding, it is great to see that when one values one's relationship, one does not lie or evade questions or stay stupidly silent when your partner needs information.

Simply assuming one's partner can read minds and that innocence is sufficient in superficially ambiguous situations to be immediately recognized as innocent is stupid, unfair to your partner and never works, even in soap operas.

It's wonderful to see that Rodney -in spite of "being bad with people"- is intelligent enough to know that. He is a genius after all! Just as he's been saying all along...

Poor Rodney - this killed me a little bit because of course he'd think that.

“I waited for this,” he emphasized, gesturing wildly between them, “for five years, I wouldn’t screw it up. Oh, I knew something like this would happen. I just thought it would happen to you and I’d be the injured party.”
