"Huh," said John.

"Huh?"

"They've repealed DADT."

There was a momentary pause in the clattering of keys. Without looking at him, without even turning his head, Rodney reached into an inside pocket of his jacket, sliding a ring onto his finger at about the same time as John did his.

Same as he did every day, John pressed a quick kiss to his temple, on his way out the door.

Teyla placed her tray on the table across from Rodney and sat down. He continued to type on his lap top and take notes in his data pad. "The repeal is good news, yes?"

Rodney glanced up and said "Day late and a dollar short but it's a start." And went back to his work.

Teyla reached over and stopped Rodney's right hand for a second and said "but for you and John, this very good?"

Rodney stopped and sat up. He looked around then said "No. Nothing changes overnight. Sheppard is still the military commander of this base and his Marines are still...dealing with it. Please just leave it alone."

Teyla Emmagan finished her breakfast then went to find Ronon. She found him on a balcony that looked over the city. “Your thoughts?” she asked him. He hooked an arm around her neck, pulled her close and said “you worry to much. We circle the team and wait it out.”

So, huh, this posting period hasn't *officially* closed yet, has it? *scuffs foot in the dirt shyly*

I've had an idea just plant itself in my head. But it's 11:35 p.m. and snowing and I have to be up early to clean my car and be at work. (I know, I know. If I were really dedicated to McSmooch, I wouldn't let that stop me) My question is this. Is the festival likely to close soon? If I write like the wind will I (maybe) still have time to post it here? Not that I won't write it and post it if the posting period has closed, I just like posting McSmooches and I haven't written one for the past couple of posting periods.
