Prompt: What is done out of love always takes place beyond good and evil.
Word count: 100
Rating: PG, character death

At the end of all things, as at the beginning, was Harry and Voldemort and a green curse waiting to be spoken.

Let go, Tom, Harry said, the weight of centuries between them, the rubble of the latest city-battlefield beneath their feet.\

I won't. The reply came at once, but below it, an echo of Harry's own heart: So tired.

Harry lowered his wand, extended his hand. Voldemort looked at it as though all the years of keeping Harry alive, keeping the horcrux alive, had turned to ashes.

Tom, if you love me even a little, let go.

"Avada Kedavra."

The poor fellows--you really wrenched a lot of emotion out of this short piece. Excellent work.

Thanks! My drabbles often fail because of my tendency to put too much in too few words, so I'm happy this one worked.

I'm so glad you liked it! It was such an excellent prompt.

How did you manage to convey so much in 100 words?

It was tough, especially since I have a novella-length fic along these lines in my WIP folder.

Nice interpretation of the prompt. I always love me some good Harry/Tom interactions.

Wow, that was very moving. I'm amazed how much came through in so few words.

Thank you. :) I'm amazed myself. I didn't think I'd be able to squish it that much.
