Harry/Lily for Amanuensiseeyore9990April 22 2007, 03:54:42 UTC
Recipient: amanuensis1 *cough* No pressure there. *dies* Request: Harry/Lily Length: Umm, 527 more than it should be. I’m sorry!!! Warnings: Incest but not really. :-/ Also, surprisingly canon *weg*
Harry never knew his mother. All he’d ever been told of her-that wasn’t a total lie made up by the Dursleys-was that he had her eyes and that she died for him. Oh, and she was apparently excellent with Charms work.
When he was eleven, that changed. For the first time, he saw his mother. She of the long, red hair, laughing green eyes, and wide, real smile. The smile that said she was someone who knew how to live, and had lived well.
He sat there all night, just eleven, so small, watching her. Well, them, really, but mostly her. He saw his Dad waving at him and adjusting his glasses, and grinning, but really? He sort of faded next to his mum’s-Lily’s-beauty

Ah ha ha! You've done the impossible--you took a pairing that by its nature should squick me and made me cheer for it and go, "oh, yuck," when we came to the nice normal pairing at the end. Fabulous. *hugs*

GHA, this was fantablulous! Going in, I wasn't sure how you could pull this off without squicking me, but it made me very happy. With that warm, glowy feeling. I'm not sure I should be feeling like that, but oh well!

This? Is perfect! Not at all squicky, surprisingly, but rather sweet and emotional. And I really wanted to have a go at Ginny for not being what Harry needed, but that's probably another story.
And extra points to you for drawing on the Oedipus syndrome inherent in the Harry/Ginny relationship.
