Recipient: snakeling Prompt: Voldemort, "My kingdom for a horse!" Word Count: 126 Rating: G
(with apologies to William Shakespeare)
So many have I killed today and more Shall meet their end before the dusky sun Has touched the darkened edge of the horizon. And yet they come, like the white tops of waves That dash themselves upon the cow’ring shore. A horse! Methinks it has been said before, Long ago and in a different country - My kingdom, oh! my kingdom built of light And blood and six little secrets, now lost. Last night I thought I dreamt - or was it real? - Of all the ghosts whose lives I stole away; Their grasping hands did pull me ’neath the waves And I died in darkness. Before I woke, I thought I should give anything, my kingdom, My power, my soul, for one more moment Of living.
Oh my God! *floored* I had no idea for a prompt, so I popped the first quote that came to mind, and you managed to turn it into something absolutely fantabulous! ♥
Wow, I'm really impressed. I could've never accomplished what you did here. *bows to the master*. You know, I saw this prompt and the one medawyn got, about Snape speaking in limericks, and I was anxious to see what writers made of them. It's perfect.

So many have I killed today and more
Shall meet their end before the dusky sun
Has touched the darkened edge of the horizon.
And yet they come, like the white tops of waves
That dash themselves upon the cow’ring shore.
A horse! Methinks it has been said before,
Long ago and in a different country -
My kingdom, oh! my kingdom built of light
And blood and six little secrets, now lost.
Last night I thought I dreamt - or was it real? -
Of all the ghosts whose lives I stole away;
Their grasping hands did pull me ’neath the waves
And I died in darkness. Before I woke,
I thought I should give anything, my kingdom,
My power, my soul, for one more moment
Of living.

Oooooh. This was really good. I don't think you owe The Bard an apology...if you ask me, you more than did him justice!
