He remembers.

A vast parchment scroll that unrolls to form a triangle, and at the tip there is ‘Draco’ written in ink that seems to still be wet though it isn’t it is en-chant-ed his mother smiling with golden hair my! isn’t he a clever little boy our Draco knows a new word and before that come the names of the Blacks and the Malfoys and they all are to be learnt says Father...

“Oh, I set fire to some Muggle kid,” he lies.

And the parchment burns.

Oh, I really liked this, especially the way Pansy's expectations of Draco contrast with his father's. And Draco's response and the truth it hides are perfect.

I love how you've written the childhood memory in contrast to the flat, direct language of the present and Draco and Pansy's superficial conversation.
