Recipient: srichard Prompt: Snape, Luna, and eternal detention Word count: 263 Rating: PG Notes: set post-war; Luna is being punished for unspecified crimes. Considering the current Ministry, it seems appropriate for them to punish those who saved them from Death Eaters. I played on detention a bit - this is detention in keeping her at Hogwarts after she should have left (as well doing Snape's dirty work). Hope you enjoy this.
Snape drummed his fingers across his desk, watching Luna grind out beetles for the first years. He leaned back, hearing the chair creak. "Smaller pieces, Lovegood."
She looked up at him, and smiled. "Of course, Professor." Snape seethed. How dare she smile at him?
She'd been tried by the Ministry for her illegal actions on Hogwarts property, but Hogwarts rule was always foremost. Thus, this endless detention - she couldn't leave until Snape let her go. (And he would never let her; not until she repented of her crimes. And of course, he had to get the one wizard on Earth too bloody thick to recognize

I absolutely love seeing Luna and Snape in the same room together. It's such a pity we never get to see it in canon, particularly if JKR could write it as well as you have. ;-)
