Recipient: schadenkatze Prompt: Snape finds/is gifted with an abandoned litter of... no one to pawn them off to. How does he deal? Word count: 100 Rating: G, angst
Death eaters scattered quickly throughout the house, sidestepping the bodies, to check for unlikely witnesses. All were young, on only their first or second raid and adrenalin's rush covered any deeper response to the kills, be it excitement, or terror, or horror.
Severus stepped into the bedroom and stilled. He'd heard a noise, from that cupboard.
"Alohomora!" The door flew open and revealed, no cowering human, but a box. It contained three mewling kittens, huddled for warmth.
Their mother lay dead alongside her owners downstairs. These three could only starve.
"Avada Kedavra," he whispered, and walked out of the room.

Oh man, and on the cat's birthday drabblethon? Harsh, Snape. How could you be so cold? *shifty eyes* Really, I love this. Excellent snapshot of Snape's early DE days. *shivers*
