Recipient: vaysh11 Prompt: Harry/Draco, quote: "... beauty signposted with bruises, bite marks and fingerprints", slash Word Count: 100 Rating: PG-13 for blood
Even being Lucius Malfoy's son couldn't save Draco from the abuse all Death Eaters had come to guard closely in their hearts.
Harry's eyes welled up when he saw where the Dark Lord had gripped Draco with those serpentine fingers, leaving five perfect bruises on Draco's ivory forearm. Even more grievous were the gashes on his neck, proof that Fenrir had chosen to mark him.
Yet even proof of their ownership could not stop Harry from pulling the trembling boy into his arms and suddenly biting Draco’s lower lip, enough to draw blood, to create a mark of his own.
I must come clean and admit that I don't like Draco very much, nor do I ship Harry/Draco in the slightest XD but I do feel sorry for him, being forced into the Death Eater BS and all. This was easier for me to write than the rough sex the prompt suggested, so I just ran with it XD Also, I just saw the movie, like I'm sure most of us did, so I was like, "Hmm, Draco's in deep shit with the Dark Lord, now what?" Sorry for it being so depressing XD I always thought of Draco's existence as bittersweet anyhow. Plus I'm in the middle of writing a pretty dark Final Fantasy 7 fanfic, so I guess dark is on the brain XD

Hmmm - I love the dark theme of Marking that you weave through this drabble, especially since being Marked (rather than being Chosen, as the HBP movie makes him say) clearly shapes so much of Draco's DE experience. This says more about Harry, actually, than about Draco, that he needs to claim him, too, by a physical marking. Thanks for this!

You're welcome! I had to find a way to include the slash when I don't really like Harry/Draco (most of my OTPs involve Snape. bwa ha ha.), and I had just seen the movie, so I was like, let's focus on his Dark Mark, because those things give me the sexy-creepies anyhow ^__^ plus if the Death Eaters had left marks on him, that Harry would be compelled to compete :D It is a little dark, but sometimes dark is fun. :D

Oh, it's all good, yo. I always appreciate a challenge! Besides, it's the Cat's fault :P I was just hoping I wouldn't get a hole in the wall pairing I'd never heard of! I'm glad I got someone familiar like Draco. I may not like him, but JK does a good job with him in the sense that he's much more than an irritating rich kid.
I thought that would be the case by the prompt you submitted :D And is it just me, or was the scene with Snape healing Draco in the HBP movie after he got Sectumsempra'd one of the most darkly romantic scenes I've seen in a movie in a long time? Even I would ship Draco for that scene! There was something so poetic about Snape bending over Draco's broken body and making all the bloody holes slowly disappear. Haha I guess I like dark too!
