At least Tonks presumed that’s what Voldemort had said. Could have been “kiss” or “huzzah” for that matter. The transformation wasn’t much help in the linguistics department. Still, she supposed this was the moment they’d prepared for.

Snape was staring at her, trapped, pale-faced and horrified. Guess he has to be a good actor to survive so long, Tonks thought, but alas, the true reason for his quite sincere terror was the fact that she was beginning to sport very unsnakelike purple hairs, and her coiling and uncoiling in the starry sphere was anything but effectively serpentine.

She leaned down to bite him, and dropped the fake-blood capsule she’d been hiding in her mouth, and got a linty mouthful of black wool instead of neck.

“Damn it,” Snape muttered. “Obliviate!”
