"Well, that was rewarding."

"We went out with a bang they couldn't ignore."

"And now?"

"We hide. Mum is going to kill us."

"I dunno. I think she'll understand." They both paused, then laughed.

"I wish we could..."

"What?"

"I wish we could've stayed behind and helped. I pity everyone who's left."

"I know. But we've done what we could."

"We'll attack from the outside, then."

"Yes."

"But first we'll lay low for a bit."

The red-haired twins grinned at each other in near-identical fashion, then walked back to their unchained brooms to begin the next chapter of their lives.

<3 I'm glad you like it. I was planning on a pr0n pairing, but then the twins hijacked my imagination for most dramatic "Leaving School" scene. I hope the regret is not too OOC. I was trying to go for the "you could try it again" of the lyrics and convey "we could... but nah."

They hijacked my drabble, as is their wont. :D I was thinking Harry/Draco and Fiendfyre, but noooooo. Fred and George said they were there FIRST and fireworks were MUCH cooler.
