Title: I Keep on Coming Back to You (Pt. 3) Author: md123 Pairing: Jack/Liz, reference to Jack/Others Rating: PG Word Count: 1,529 Spoilers: None Summary: Hank Hooper orders Jack to marry.
Like a "one that got away" sort of thing? Or UST between close friends? (Sorry, I know this is super late but I am interested in your opinions on this pairing.)
I mean that's more fun to write some variation on the romance/sexual/soul mate angle.
I can actually accept the formulation on the show that their relationship is more brother/sister than anything else. Liz finds relationship Jack horrifying, and Jack prefers his love interests as both intimidating and as absolute 10s.
(That's not to suggest that Liz/Tina is in anything less than smoking hot. But if you walked around with a picture of Liz and a picture of Elisa or Avery, and showed them to random men who knew nothing about either character or actress, I think the decision would be pretty lopsided.)
But that doesn't mean that a romantic connection is ridiculous, either. The wide range of possibilities is what makes them interesting, IMO.
Lovely! Your fic reminds me why I still love Jack and Liz despite what's happened in the show's past few seasons! Thank you for that! I look forward to your follow-up. Very nice work!
What attracts me to writing this couple is that it's never going to happen. If I thought it would, I'd be content to wait for it to develop on the show.
