Well it ended up being 7 people getting sacked. Two of which i ate lunch with almost everyday, two more who i would consider friends as well.

My company (Fingerhut) just went through a pretty massive layoff last October. About 25% of our staff (or 500 people/positions) were eliminated. It was absolutely awful to see people get called into the director's office, one after another... and I sat there feeling guilty that I still had a job. I'm really sorry you're having to go through this. It just fucking sucks.
