If I hadn't had to use so much vacation time after the storm, I could have managed things differently, but unfortunately I'm basically wiped out of vacation days until after the new year. I'll let you know how things go with Gatsby. I'm sure I'll be posting lots of pics. :))

I'll really miss seeing you all. :/

Oh I was so hoping to see you...but rescuing a pup is very important as well. How is your Spencer doing? I miss you and hope everything works out for the new pup and you.

Seeing you and catching up with what's been happening with you was one of the things I was most looking forward to. I'm so sorry I won't be able to - this year, at least.

Sadly, Spencer died on July 23rd. His cancer came back very aggressively and suddenly. But he lived for 6 months after his diagnosis, which was pretty good for a dog his age and for the kinds of cancer he had. How's your Homer doing? I hope he's still hanging in there!!

OMG! I had no idea...I am sooo sorry to hear he didn't make it. I know how devastating it is to lose a companion and I am just crying for you. With you being away from LJ and me being absent so much I guess I just missed any postings about his passing. Homer's still hanging in there. I don't expect him to live a whole much longer only because getting up and down from a lying position is a 5 minute, hard to watch, exercise. I've had to help him many times and it's hard to see him look at me like ' let's just get this over with' while I'm trying to boost him up.

Bless Homer and bless you. It's amazing that he's still hanging in there at his age. I hope he'll be with you a while longer.

It was hard losing Spencer after we'd gone through so much together. But he had two very aggressive cancers and the wonder is that he lived as long as he did. And I got to say a proper goodbye to him, to take lots of pictures, and make sure I had no regrets when he died. He'll always be a part of me.
