Continuing the California trip report, the McKinsey third round interview. As a place I might want to work, much more positive than the prior interview. That interview question sounds like a tough one. On those, I've found value in spin. It rarely matters much that the outcome be extremely compelling - it's mostly in the story telling. When you think about it, whether you managed to get Ahmedinejad to love Israel or just managed to get a non-descript asshat to stop stealing your pens, you're just telling a story and what the interviewer cares about are things like what you learned and the process/experience you had ( ... )

Yeah, I spun it less than I wish I could have. We'll see. That same interviewer gave me advice about which office to pick in terms of parking fees, so either she's *very* good at not giving hints or it wasn't a fatal error.
