Did I just read right, that they are also saying that maybe we should start using science to decide whether marijuana has medicinal use?

I'm no smoke smoke-shrouded super-pot-advocate, but anything that can make life easier for someone with cancer is good by me.

That is correct. In fact, that initiative began with a friend of mine here at UW, who asked the med students to approve the idea 2 years ago. He's been grinding on it slowly ever since.

Although in fairness, I am far from convinced that MJ is valuable as a medicine. It's *so* inconsistent in quality, smoking something is a lousy way to deliver it, and it's got harmful side effects to anyone exposed to secondhand smoke. I ust like this because I favor legalization in general.

It can be delivered in pill form, too? And presumably something prepared for medicinal purposes would have more uniform quality. Either way though, I'm willing to except the verdict of real peer-reviewed studies. I'm in favor of legalization in general but I can only use anecdotal evidence when there isn't science.

Big thumbs-up! I'd like to see more and more institutions adopt this stance until the haters become an isolated fringe.
