So, I'm supposed to be flying to Maine to see her parents today. We got to the airport and our boarding pass says At Gate for the seat. The woman at the ticket counter said this was normal and we'd just have to ask for a seat at the gate

I didn't reserve a standby seat.. I managed to get a seat on an overbooked flight :P

Grr overbooking flights! You should complain, maybe next time they'll give you a free upgrade or something.
