Forgot to mention our exciting news...

I totally forgot to mention some exciting news - Todd went back to work on Monday! Woohoo! He is doing so awesome but he has now moved into the "How much longer do I have to wear this stinking cervical collar?" phase. I also catch him "cheating" a lot by taking the collar off "only for a minute". He has a follow-up with his surgeon on the 20th ( Read more... )

So glad to hear about Todd's rapid recovery!

Don't know what to say about the job quandry - why can't the big bucks AND dream boss ever come together?

I hate getting stuck having to talk with a wife or GF when all you want to do is watch football w/the guys. (of course, the Redskins have been a little painful to watch)

sounds like a great weekend, and I'm so glad to hear Todd's feeling better!

We do have a couple where I like one of the people more, but fortunately for me, it's the guy I don't care for and he is P's friend, so they talk geek stuff that I can pretty much ignore the majority of the time we hang out. That is difficult in your situation. I get that some people don't like football, but hello - you came over to watch the game! That doesn't call for a sitdown meal, that calls for pizza and buffalo wings in front of the TV!

PS - Forgot to comment on the job thing. Any way you could take the offer to your current great boss and explain the situation and basically ask for more money? The only downfall there is that you sort of force their hand and might have to leave anyway if they don't offer anymore cash. That is a difficult one, but I would have an extremely hard time turning down that much more money. I think you're right to wait and see their offer first. Good luck!

I'm glad to hear that Todd's recovery is going so well, and that both of your lives are somewhat returning to normal. My Dh had major surgery a few years ago, and I know how incredibly stressful it is. Wishing you both well.
