So my job has gone from awful to awful times 2. I have to do something tomorrow that goes against everything I believe in as an educator and the really really sucks. I hate my job. I almost walked yesterday but I bit my tounge. I have to make it to the end of the year so that I can have decent refrences. What really sucks is that if I were to ( Read more... )

Thank you Nicole. Sometimes it gets really hard to breath. The stress is so bad for me. I have gained like 20lbs but I am not worried about that too much because hopefully when life gets easier I will get back to normal. I posted an update under Lindsay's comment. I hope you are doing good!

Friday one of my students went crazy and we ....the school is pressing charges against him. The police came and he has been charged with destruction of property, communicating threats, attempted assault, and disorderly conduct. He is suspended Monday but will be back on Tuesday. I rearranged my classroom completely to accomodate him. My awesome assistant and amazing fiance helped me out. I split the room in half and gave my violent kid his own corner away from everyone right by the time-out room and he is almost completely boxed in. We shall see if I have to call the police again on Tuesday. Other teachers at my school are threatening to go on strike if he enters any building except my classroom due to compromising the safety of teachers and students. I AM A 1st YEAR TEACHER!!!!THIS IS NUTS!!!!!! More later. Thank you all for the support.

Michelle, I should really put you in touch with my mother-in-law to discuss ways of dealing with these situations. She has been a teacher for most of her life and has primarily worked with emotionally handicapped children (or should I say teens as I think most of her students are over the age of 13). She is the tiniest woman in the world, and my husband and I sometimes worry because some of the kids can be so sweet one minute and violent and crazy the next. But she has found some methods that work. And continues to go back every year. I know you want the change, but she may be able to offer some suggestions to help you get through the rest of the school year. If you are interested, drop me an email at gbrkich@att.net.

Stay strong! Goodluck on Tuesday!
