The first trilogy written by Timothy Zahn ("Heir to the Empire," "Dark Force Rising," and "The Last Command"), "Shadows of the Empire," and the anthology books ("Tales From Jabba's Palace," "Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina," and "Tales of the Bounty Hunters."). That last group of books is particularly amusing. Various sci-fi authors give most of the background characters in the cantina and Jabba's palace a back story. That's all I can recall without going to the bookcase.

I have the first "Dark Empire" graphic novel, not so much because of the story, since Tom Veitch seems to have an unhealthy obsession with clones, but rather because the artwork is interesting. I forget who the colorist is, but they use a lot of interesting shading techniques, and also most of his background tones are from the far end of the spectrum, as opposed to the primary colors that are used in a majority of comics.
